This comprehensive, one-day fly fishing course transitions beginners from fundamental concepts to hands-on river casting. Designed to build a strong foundation, it is structured into a morning classroom and rigging session, followed by an afternoon on the water to land your first fish.

Morning Session: Theory and Tackle (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM)

• 9:00 AM | Equipment Basics: Introduction to the parts of a fly rod, reel, and the concept of a fly line. Understanding the numbered weight system (e.g., 5-weight rods for trout and panfish) and how the weight of the line casts the fly.

• 9:45 AM | Essential Knots: Hands-on practice tying the three most important knots:

  • Clinch Knot: Attaching the fly to the tippet.
